The Billingshurst Show has grown into one of the most anticipated events of the Rotary year! The show is a joint collaberation between our club and Billingshurst Scout and Guide Group.
Held in June, the 2017 show attracted a record 3000 or more people and as it’s popularity grows we expect even more this year. First held in 1987 and then again from 2003, the Billingshurst Show is a fun and entertaining community event that celebrates everything, well – community!
From the colourful carnival procession and dog show, to the Great Billingshurst Bake Off competition, Pig Racing and the Knights of Loxwood along with good weather ensured everyone had a good time.
The show is also a fantastic opportunity to showcase local businesses with stalls offering fresh produce and hand crafted gifts. Visitors can also find out about other community initiatives as the show is attended by other local charities and organisations including Billingshurst Lions, Royal British Legion, Macmillian Cancer Support, Wey & Arun Canal Trust and Age UK.
We managed to raise in excess of £9500 and this was shared equally between Rotary and the Scouts and Guides – providing much needed charity funds.
The 2018 Billingshurst Show will take place on Sunday 24h June, at the Recreation Ground, Lower Station Road, Billingshurst, West Sussex. The show officially opens at 1pm, with the carnival procession departing Jengers Mead Carpark shortly after noon.
